A third contender in the New Patriotic Party's parliamentary election in the Ejura Sekyedumasi Constituency ahead of the 2024 election has urged royalists to avoid a campaign of insults and bad-mouthing.
Kingsley Nana Owusu, an IT specialist, stated that aspirants should be able to sell themselves to the voters without insults, which could tarnish the image of the party.
"Sell yourself according to what you have done. Don't go and insult somebody - it will not help the party," he said.
He also urged the two other contenders to shun politics of insult and instead preach what they can offer the party, adding that it will only strengthen the party ahead of the 2024 elections.
Nana Owusu picked up his nomination forms at the constituency party office on Friday, July 21, 2023, with high hopes of winning the constituency primary.

He asserted that his analysis has shown his possibilities of winning the November primary.
A number of party members who joined him in picking the forms believed in his views and supported him.
He stated that his hard work in the constituency is an example of what he can achieve for the party if elected.

At a cost of about GH₵10,000, he said he had graveled the road connecting Brigade Community and the Kotokoli line road from Bawa Junction to Brigade Bridge, as well as constructed a platform for Ejura Fire Service to alleviate their water challenges at the station.
"I constructed a police post between Dromankuma and Kyenkyenkura to improve security in the municipality as a whole, and a health screening program for constituency residents."
Concerning water supply, he stated that he provided two boreholes for the Atta-Kura No.1 community, which has been a source of contention for the past eight months.
He further added that two party offices in Sekyedumase and Anyinasu have been secured. Again, 32 Plasma TVs and refrigerators have been bought for these offices.

Nana Owusu stated that he has assisted the party in countless ways that cannot be listed. He cited, among other things, the donation of GH₵6,000 cedis to Assembly members during the confirmation of the MCE, Dr. Kingsley Osei, despite the fact that he was among those shortlisted for the position.
On July 11, 2023, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) opened nominations for Parliamentary primaries in areas where the party has no representation. The nomination period will end on Thursday, August 10, with elections scheduled from September to December.
According to the party, male aspiring parliamentary candidates must pay a non-refundable filing fee of GH₵35,000, while women and those with disabilities pay half of the fee.
Aspirants have been asked to follow the party’s constitution and use the proper mechanism to channel any issues that may arise.
Two other aspirants, Mohammed Aminu, and Gifty Ndoma are also hopeful of winning the constituency primary.
