A 55 year-old suspect, Mohammed Hardi is in the grips of the Tamale police for murder.
According to the Northern Regional Crime Officer Superintendent Bernard Baba Ananga, the Police received information that Mohammed Hardi had murdered someone in his room.
He said that a patrol team was dispatched to the scene, but upon the search nothing was found.
Superintendent Ananga added that the suspect was subsequently arrested and brought to the police station for interrogation.
He said later in the day at about 2210hrs, someone reported to the Police that a body had been dumped by the road side on the Tamale - Nyankpala highway.
The Regional Crime Officer added that upon further interrogation the suspect admitted that he and Alfa Sakibu killed the victim .
He said the suspect led the Police to the home of his alleged accomplice Alfa Sakibu but he had absconded adding that the suspect led the Police to Nyankpala where the body was recovered.
His alleged accomplice, Alfa Sakibu is however at large.
Joynews gathered that the deceased was identified as Asedia, a Sierra Leonean national, aged about 30yrs.
The body has since been deposited at Tamale Teaching Hospital Morgue for autopsy.
