Award-winning rapper Pappy Kojo has denied suggestion by actress Yvonne Nelson that they are related.
There were speculations that the two were an item years ago as they were mostly spending time together.
Pappy Kojo was later featured in Yvonne Nelson’s self-produced series dubbed ‘Heels and Sneakers’.
In a conversation with Joy News’ MzGee on her weekend show ‘The Gist’, Yvonne refuted claims that she and the rapper were in a relationship.
The actress cum producer has stated that she and the ‘Aye Late’ crooner were “cousins”.
“Pappy is family but I think he is a hot guy...We used to spend a lot of time together...He is family, he is my cousin. He is Gaisie, my grand mum is Gaisie and we are all from the same place,” she said.
Asked when she learnt of their family ties, Ms Nelsom said it was no secret.
“We’ve always known...ask him...so even if we were feeling each other that thing was just holding us back,” she said.
However, when MzGee caught up with Pappy Kojo who is currently promoting his single ‘Balance’, he vehemently rejected the actress’ claims.
Below is Pappy Kojo’s conversation with MzGee on the Gist on Saturday;
MzGee: Is it true you are related to Yvonne Nelson? Pappy Kojo: No. MzGee: Who was Yvonne to you? Pappy Kojo: She was like a good friend MzGee: Are you related to Yvonne Nelson? Pappy Kojo: No. MzGee: Yvonne told me, you both were cousins. Pappy Kojo: She lied.
