DCE for Ho West District of the Volta Region, Ernest Victor Apau, has urged journalists to go into commercial farming to boost their income.
Speaking at the meet the press series organised by the Assembly, Mr Apau noted that agriculture is the way to go as it has a lot of benefits to the individual and the society.
"It's beneficial to go into agriculture and large scale farming and one of the best ways to make good money," he said.
Mr Ernest Victor Apau who led the journalists on a tour to the vast farm around the Assembly said, the most lucrative job in the world currently is farming and the youth must be encouraged to go into farming instead of depending only on their monthly salaries which sometimes is woefully inadequate.
He said plans are far advanced for the assembly to get more land for the farming projects in order to generate income to help with projects in the district that needed urgent attention.
One of the chiefs of the area who has also benefited under the DCE’s initiative of one paramountcy-one-farm, Togbui Adza Osei, Chief of Akoviefe, touted the DCE's excellent performance over the past two and half years.
He also urged chiefs and queen mothers to release lands for agricultural activities.
Ho West was adjudged the best in planting for export and rural development in the Volta and Oti regions.
