Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Samuel Nartey George, has urged men to make conscious efforts to be more romantic to their partners despite their natural mental makeup.
He said ladies grow up learning a lot about romance from movies or books, however, men learn from their fathers who are seen as “overlords” in the traditional African setting.
“With the evolution of life, you cannot stick to the traditional roles,” the vociferous legislator advised.
Mr Nartey George said men should not allow their natural makeup of being more practical in dealing with life to control their attitude towards their wives in order to keep the flame of love burning in their marriages.
“Men are predatory in nature,” he pointed out on the relationship segment of Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, Friday.
The father of two who was sharing his opinion on the mistakes in relationships added that many men cease the display of affection after they succeed in getting their lover’s hand in marriage.
“For a man, it’s a conquest; the ability to conquer,” he described the attitude of men who stop being affectionate after they wed their partner.
Citing himself as an example, he advised men to assist their wives whenever the need arises to do house chores.
This is the third edition of the discussion on the topic mistakes in relationships on the Relationship Segment of the Super Morning Show which airs every Friday.
