About 28 clinical suspected COVID-19 cases in the Eastern Region, have tested negative at the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR).
According to a statement issued by the Regional Emergency Health committee, a total of 33 individuals were identified to have returned from various regions since Saturday.
However, only three of these returnees were from the Greater Accra Region, Kumasi, and Kasoa and have all tested negative.
Also, the cases of seven nurses, a physician assistant, a pharmacist and a record staff of the St Joseph Hospital in Koforidua, who were quarantined after attending to a suspected carrier on Sunday, have also tested negative.
The suspected carrier of the virus is said to be a rotational nurse at the hospital who showed symptoms after receiving a parcel from China two weeks ago.
But the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Kupualor revealed that the results from the Noguchi proved that the suspected person was not infected.
