Rafimex Ghana Limited and Lucozade Ghana, has donated over 8000 cans of Lucozade energy drink to the Ghana Armed Forces.
This is to support them as they expend energy in helping fight against the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking at the presentation, Abigail Ofosu Antwi, Public Relations Officer of Rafimex General Trading Company, said they believe the cans of Lucozade will help the military to restore energies lost especially during the lockdown period where they need to be highly alert and vigilant.
Haissam El-dowi, CEO of Rafimex Ghana Limited, key distributors of Lucozade in Ghana, said that this donation is one of Rafimex Ghana’s ways to support organisations in the frontline.
He is hopeful the donation will go a long way to motivate the abled personnel of Ghana Armed Forces as they do their best to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Lucozade is a glucose-based beverage that helps restore lost energy. We hope that this helps replenish energies expended during the enforcement of this partial lock-down," Mensah Seneadza, the Country Manager of Lucozade Ghana and West Africa said.
Receiving the items, Rear Admiral Adam Yakubu, the Chief of Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces, expressed their appreciation for the support.
He said, “thank you very much for the support, the crisis we find ourselves in is one that demands the collective responsibility of society”.
“Though we are at the frontline, support like what you are giving us is what urges us on”, he added.
Ghana’s total confirmed Covid-19 cases as of Wednesday stood at 214 including 5 deaths and 31 recoveries.
Five regions have so far reported cases – Ashanti Region, Upper West Region, Eastern Region, Northern Region and Greater Accra Region.
