The National Inspectorate Board (NIB) is urging schools to desist from removing online fees defaulters from their e-learning platforms.
The Board said the removal of these students from the e-learning platforms will make them lag behind in academic activities.
In a statement signed by Dr Haggar Hilda Ampadu, the Executive Secretary of the NIB, all schools have been urged to desist from such acts immediately “pending a consultative meeting with Heads/Owners of Private Schools on June 3, to discuss matters arising concerning e-learning and payment of e-learning fees.”
The statement stressed that schools found acting contrary to the NIB’s directives “may face some restrictions in the delivery of their online learning programmes.”
“We ask schools offering online learning to allow all learners to continue with their learning activities while we work to reach a resolution,” they added.
Schools in the country were shut down in March as a preventive measure against the spread of the novel coronavirus.
It is uncertain when schools will finally be re-opened, but for the mean time, traditional learning has been migrated to digital platforms.
