Running mate of National Democratic Congress flagbearer has said the party is dedicated to working in favour of all electorates, irrespective of status and political affiliation.
Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang said the NDC involved several people from the grassroots in the compilation of its manifesto.
"Contrary to allegations from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), our decision was on account of the need to educate ourselves on the demands of the general public, in other to inculcate essentials into the manifesto,” she said.
She said this in her address to the Paramount Chief of Bekwai Traditional Area, Oyeadieyie Kwadwo Armah Basape III and residents of the community as part of her campaign tour, Wednesday.
Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang's three-day tour to all nine constituencies of the Western North Region ends on Thursday.
According to her, the NDC’s decision to have a woman as a running mate is a call for cohesion and support towards ensuring that the country regains its lost reputation.
“John Dramani’s choice is a call to all men and women alike, the youth and children to participate in making Ghana a leading country, because unlike before, people cannot pride themselves in being Ghanaian anymore,” she said.
Prof Opoku-Agyemang urged the residents to come out in their numbers to verify their registration as well as cast their ballot for the John Mahama to further develop the country.
The former Education Minister said development is a collective responsibility and a by-product of solidarity, thus she charged them to contribute to the betterment of Ghana by doing their part in voting the NDC into power.
