A former spokesperson for John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawa Mogtari says the next NDC administration will abolish the double-track system in Senior High Schools within its first two years in office.
This according to her will put an end to months of debate about the effectiveness of the double-track system in the education of Senior High School students.
The double-track policy introduced by the current Akufo-Addo led government has been widely criticized by stakeholders in the education sector.
They insist this policy compromises the quality of education students at the Senior High School level receive.
Backing this stance, Joyce Bawa in an interview on Prime Morning said, the children deserve better, hence the promise in the 2020 manifesto to abolish it.
"I believe in the first two years, we certainly would have ruled out a very comprehensive blueprint that enables us to poke this thing" she stated.
To wipe out this policy, "building more schools will mean then that we are able to even reduce numbers and encourage more children to go to school at the same time" she added.
She concluded by praising the country's first President, Kwame Nkrumah for leaving a school model that is still relevant in the current period and time.
