Mexico's President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador is often criticised for downplaying the issue of gender violence.
Relatives of missing children and survivors of rape in Mexico have occupied the offices of the National Human Rights Commission for more than a week.
They say they will not move until authorities bring perpetrators to justice.
