Musician Michelle Diamond, popularly known as Michy, has revealed that she was never into her ex-boyfriend Shatta Wale for his money or fame.
According to her, the dancehall artiste had only ¢17 as his savings when they first met.
The fame and money, Michy who shares a child with the artiste explained, was a by-product she found herself in as Shatta Wale’s career grew.
She stated that being in the show business was not something she aspired especially after her mother warned her against it at a young age.
“I cared. I really cared, that was why I stayed with him,” the mother of one told Emelia Brobbey on the Okukuseku show.
Michy added that she sensed Shatta Wale needed someone not only be with him but be his strength and motivation - a choice she made easily.
Reacting to their break up, she explained that she had never left the Melissa hitmaker because of cheating but because she did not want to change him.
“Everyone likes him the way he is so let him enjoy his life the way he wants,” Michy added.
