The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has bemoaned the long neglect of the Neoplan Bus Assembly plant in Kumasi plant for the establishment of new car assembly plants by foreign investors.
General Secretary, Asiedu Nketia says the last assembly of buses in large quantities done by the plant was facilitated by the John Rawlings administration who purchased raw materials for the purpose.
These buses were used to establish the Metro Mass Transit (MMT) under former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
Mr Asiedu Nketiah said the incentives that come with the establishment of an assembly plant by foreign investors will collapse businesses in the country.
He spoke at the Kumasi Town Hall meeting, a Twi version of the ‘People’s Manifesto’ launch.
Mr Asiedu Nketiah said the party will move to smaller groups in the Region to explain their manifesto in respect to the interest of these groups.
