Paramount chief of Sefwi traditional area Katakyire Kwasi Bumangama II has hailed President Akufo-Addo for the rehabilitation of cocoa activities in the country.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of Cocoa Rehabilitation Programme at Sefwi Wiawso, he commended the President for better initiatives implemented into the cocoa sector.
He commended government for the implementation of several projects that include; hand pollination, introducing slashing machines for pruning and cutting off diseased cocoa trees.
"Nana Addo has brought abroad to Ghana and Sefwi Wiawso. Thank you, Nana," he stated.
Honouring the event, Akufo-Addo revealed that government has already undertaken projects to develop the Agric sector.
He relayed, "11,564 hectares of swollen shot affected farms in the Western North and Eastern Regions have undergone treatment and planted with cocoa, plantain and other economic plants.
"Out of the total number of affected farmland, 7,358 have fully recuperated".
The President gave an assurance that not a single farmer would be left out in the ongoing compensation exercise.
"Every farmer whose farm has been affected by swollen shot would be paid fully", he said.
