The Electoral Commission (EC) in the Ashanti Region says it has a working strategy to ensure timely delivery of election results as the Commission targets early declaration of results.
Per the EC’s plan, final election results would be declared 24 hours after the commencement of polls.
However, the opposition NDC is of the view that the EC is “creating unrealistic expectations” alleging that if the EC is unable to meet the expectation, they may be forced to “cook numbers”.
But the Ashanti Regional EC Director, Benjamin Bannor-Bio, in an exclusive interview with Joy News’ correspondent, Nana Yaw Gyimah has assured that credible strategies have been put in place to ensure successful delivery of elections.
“We have put in place specific programs to ensure that we achieve success and we have practised it at the national, regional and district levels so we know what we are talking about”.
“And the results that we will declare is also going to be a true reflection of the decision of the people who voted,” he added.
Mr Bannor-Bio, even though did not disclose the specific strategizes, further stressed that “everything is set for a very successful, free, fair, orderly and timely election” as material required for the exercise has been sent to all the constituencies ahead of the Election Day.
