Brazilian midfielder Fabio Gama made his debut for Asante Kotoko on Sunday coming off the bench in their Ghana Premier League outstanding match against Medeama.
Gama, 28, played more than 10 minutes, but could not make any impact as Kotoko were held to a 1-1 draw in Tarkwa.
He replaced Godfred Asiamah in the 81st minute. At the time, Kotoko were leading.
Kwame Poku had put the side ahead in the 74th minute with an accurate strike into the bottom corner. But Medeama equalised with less than five minutes remaining courtesy Abass Mohammed's penalty.
Gama signed for Kotoko on a free transfer in October but had to wait until Sunday to enter the field.
His two-month absence has been attributed to work permit and fitness issues. On Saturday, Kotoko CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah announced the Brazilian's availability for the upcoming fixtures.
Kotoko will face Ebusua Dwarfs in their next league game and Gama will hope to play a more prominent role.
