The McDan Foundation has completed renovation works at the Teong primary school located in the Tempane district in the Upper East Region two years after the foundation funded the construction of the school block.
The renovation works included, the fixing of broken doors and windows, replacing of weak roofing sheets, fixing crack walls, among other refurbishment.
The Teong primary school became a center of national attention after reports emerged of how school children there were without classrooms and furniture, forcing them to sit on the bare-floor and under trees to take lessons.
The plight of the school caught the attention of the McDan foundation which moved to build a complete primary school block for the community.
And as part of measures to preserve the school building from deterioration, the foundation decided to embark on routine maintenance of the school block.
The delegation who handed the renovated school building block at a gathering of chiefs and people of the Teong village said, the purpose for the renovation was to ensure safe and secure environment for the learning.
The Paramount Chief, Naaba Dazure II made a passionate appeal to the Foundation to build Technical and Vocational schools to groom its teeming youths into various professions profitable for the community.
