Parliament's Appointments Committee has been meeting the ministerial nominees selected by the President to aid in the second term of his administration.
Today on Newsfile, host Samson Lardy Anyenini and his guests discussed the nitty-gritty of the vetting process carried out by the Committee.
So far, about 18 appointees have been vetted including Minister-designate for Fisheries who did not seem to have impressed the public.
Mr. Anyenini and his panel went through the list of those vetted and highlight some high and low moments.
Finally, the former Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko is being accused of causing some financial loss to the state.
The Minority in Parliament indicates that the amount is to the tune of $164 million as judgment debt over the illegal termination of an Emergency Power Agreement between the government and GPGC limited.
According to the group, the former Energy Minister together with other officials terminated the agreement against experts’ advice.
Resulting in what they described as “embarrassing” to the country and denting the image of Ghana internationally.
This development was up for discussion on the show.
