President Akufo-Addo has sworn in the 16 Regional Ministers approved by Parliament after the vetting process.
The event took place at the Jubilee House on Thursday, March 11, with social distancing protocols in place.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, the President charged the ministers to ensure peace, law and order is kept across the corners of every region adding that all the country’s plan will come to naught if there is no peace.
He also urged them to be careful and tactful in the management of intelligence and security in their respective regions.
“Regional Ministers, you swore three oaths, that is of allegiance, of office and of secrecy. By this, you have sworn to uphold the interests of the Republic of its constitution and of its citizenry and to promote their general well-being.”

President Akufo-Addo also tasked the ministers to liaise with metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives for smooth administration of the regions.

“As chairpersons of the regional coordinating councils of your respective regions, you have the most regular and direct impact in the lives of the people. You set the tone for administration and development in your regions.”
He further urged them to work diligently to ensure they do not disappoint residents in the region or the country at large.

Also speaking at the event, Volta regional minister Dr Archibald Letsa said he and his colleagues lead will the government developmental agenda in the regions.
"We want to assure his Excellency and the good people of Ghana that we shall take this assignment with the seriousness, dedication commitment and loyalty that it deserves."
