The Mion Constituency chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Alhaji Abdulai Zakaria, has been suspended for three months.
This follows the alleged breaching of the party's disciplinary codes for members during the 2020 general elections.
In a statement sighted by JoyNews, the Northern Regional secretariat said a petition for the removal of Mr. Zakaria was also received from one, Mohammed Abukari, and endorsed by some 111 registered members of the party.
The statement, which announced the suspension, also indicated that the petition has been referred to the regional disciplinary committee for further actions.
