The Global Shea Alliance (GSA), the worldwide leader in promoting industry sustainability, quality practices and standards, and demand for shea in food and cosmetics, will host its annual conference from April 27th to April 29th.
Event registration is complimentary and seats are limited.
This year’s theme “Building the Industry of the Next Decade” celebrates the organisation’s 10th anniversary and highlights the importance of global cooperation to achieve a better and more sustainable shea industry for everyone, everywhere.
“We are thrilled to bring together more than 500 people representing organizations across the entire shea supply chain who share a deep passion for advancing the global utilisation of shea and improving the livelihoods of African communities,” said Simballa Sylla, President of the Global Shea Alliance.
“This year’s event gives attendees many opportunities to hear from high-level speakers, network with industry stakeholders, and learn about new and exciting developments in the industry.”
The conference focuses on five key topics; Demand Perspectives in the Covid Era, Restoring Shea Parklands, New Regulations Shaping the Industry, Future-proofing Shea Communities and a look into the Future: The Next Decade of Shea
Since 2011, GSA has mobilized stakeholders across the world to address and take action on the most pressing issues affecting the shea industry: sustainability, quality practices, and market expansion.
Through these efforts, GSA has achieved impressive milestones.
- Improved the livelihoods of more than 400,000 African women and their communities
- Expanded markets by doubling exports over the last 10 years
- Set up initiatives to grow 10 million trees and restore four million hectares of degraded shea parklands.
