A traditional leader in Kasoa, Nii Saka Odupong III has petitioned authorities to demolish the refugee camp at Buduburam.
According to him, the camp has become a hideout criminals in the community.
“The refugee camp is a major problem. This is the time for the camp to be dissolved. I cannot take the law into my own hands and do whatever I like
“So we decided to petition the security agencies,” he told JoyNews’ Maxwell Agbagba.
In recent times, there has been a fervent call for action as both young and old demands a change in the insecurity situation at Kasoa.
Sobolo gang, a group of young musicians in Kasoa over the years say they use their music to push for change in the neighborhood.
Isaac Adofo also known as Boy Dohpe is a member of the group told JoyNews that it’s scary the increasing spate of violence in the area.
"I think there should be more security in the area," he appealed.
