The South/West office of telecommunications company, MTN Ghana has donated towards the celebration of this year's Eid-ul-Fitr in the Western Region.
As Muslims across the world marks the end of their fasting period to celebrate the blessings of their lives to Allah, MTN Ghana chose to sponsor the various Chief Imams in the respective regions with some foods and other items.
In the Western Region, the company had taken the initiative in preparing for the Eid al-Fitr celebration to offer the Regional Chief Imam, Dr Sheikh Ostaz Ali Hassan Ali, Chiefs and Elders of the Muslim Community, some food items including bags of rice, a ram, packs of soft drinks and distilled water plus airtime worth ¢500.00.
Presenting these items on behalf of MTN Ghana, the Senior Manager for South West Business, Prince Owusu Nyarko remarked that the gesture is borne out of the support, patronage and loyalty to the MTN brand.
He mentioned that though Covid-19 had altered the manner in which Eid had been celebrated, there is every reason to be thankful to Allah.
“This is certainly different to the Eid celebrations we have experienced and accustomed to in the past. Despite all these changes, Eid remains the time of giving thanks for all the blessings in our lives, focusing on the sunnahs we can fulfil and reach out to those facing greater challenges.”
“We hope this our donation will go a long way to support the activities of the office of the National Chief Imam during these difficult times.” he added.
He concluded by encouraging the Muslim community to be adherent to the Covid-19 preventive protocols in every aspect of their social life.
Dr Sheikh Ostaz Ali Hassan Ali, Western Regional Chief Imam acknowledged the yearly support by the company to the Muslim fraternity and described it as a good brotherhood in building a stronger society.
He, therefore, appreciated the gesture and blessed the management and staff of MTN for the assistance.
