After his side’s win against Ebusua Dwarfs, Kotoko boss Mariano Barreto has criticized his teams' efficiency, indicating that they should have scored more goals.

After what was a slow start, Kotoko put in a fight led by their captain, Emmanuel Gyamfi as they crawled back into the game.

Barreto recognized the difference in quality of the two halves.

“I’m happy with the game because we saw two different 45 minutes. In the first, we played badly but in the second half, we changed and if you analyse the whole 45 minutes, today we could score maybe seven. Osman, Kumi and in the last minute we had lots of chances to score.

“We controlled the match and when we conceded, we did not give up. We worked hard and in the second half I think if we scored three or four goals, it was the right results. I think it was one of the best second halves we played,” Barreto noted.

The Porcupines came back from a goal down after Dennis Korsah gave the Cape Coast club an early lead in the 26th minute with a pile driver from a free-kick. In response, Gyamfi rose highest to nod in a cross from Christopher Nettey.

Barreto took a bit of solace in the shift of his players to execute their game plan and downplayed the challenge of Dwarfs, indicating that the Cape Coast side did not provide any trouble for his side.

“We knew the strategy of the other team will be to put in long balls and wait for any mistake and we worked hard not to give them any chances. So sometimes the way they play seems that we have problems but we did not have any problems.”

Kotoko, after their win, have extended their lead at the top of the table. With 44 points, they are four points ahead of second-placed Great Olympics.
