Two hundred female farmers from selected communities in Wa of the Upper West Region of Ghana have received training in Climate Smart Agricultural Practices.
The objective is to help beneficiary farmers improve yields and protect the environment from bad farming practices.
Spearheaded by Sinapi Aba with support from agricultural consultants, it is also aimed at economically empowering the women.
Selected staff of the financial institution also underwent a Trainer-of-Trainers training in the program – Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA).
Officials say it is expected to equip staff to train more women and intensify the company’s campaign of protecting the environment.
Agric Project Manager of Sinapi Aba, Isaac Okyere Darko, said training programs targeted at financial empowerment is at the heart of Sinapi Aba's business strategy.
Meanwhile, a series of such training programs have been scheduled to take place in other regions across Ghana.
