Recently, a number of professional associations in the country have embarked on strike actions to demand redress of their grievances.
These include the Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists over the appointment of two medical officers to head the laboratory division of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
The Senior Staff Association of the University of Ghana (SSA-UG) also went on an industrial action on May 18 over the failure of the government to pay arrears of the Tier 2 pension contribution of its members.
Major stakeholders in the country took interest in the turn of events and intervened in order to come up with solutions to enable these workers resume work.
Currently, members of the Technical Universities Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG), are on strike to demand a change in their conditions of service to bring it at par with lecturers in other universities.
On the back of these, PM Express tonight went into what accounts for the strike actions in the country and how the issues surrounding the industrial actions could be addressed.
