Ghanaian users of social media, have expressed opposing views on Reggae/Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale's description of #FixTheCountry campaigners as “educated fools and disappointed graduates.”
According to the artiste, born, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., the youth campaigning for a fixed-country should rather fix themselves. He subsequently described them as, "cheap thinkers".
He added that shouting, 'fix the country" on social media while Ghanaians are killed on the streets will not produce any desired change.
You are there watching bullets enter people’s children and you still screaming fix the country ..
— SHATTA WALE (@shattawalegh) June 30, 2021
Let’s stop this it won’t end well ..
I DONT WANT NO WAR !!! #AYOO
But these comments from the Shatta Movement (SM) President have not been received lightly by scores on social media. Those who do not agree with the comment contend that the artiste has no basis to criticise the medium used by Ghanaians to demand accountability.
No matter what happens there are people who will not sit aloof and watch what’s going on in this country without hitting the street and demanding for accountability from our leaders, these people are the real heroes not shatta wale nor criss wadle who are afraid to die and leave

I noticed shatta Wale being confused and inconsistent way back 2016. But I'm glad people are seeing it now😂😂😂 https://t.co/QXpCzPAgBu

Just have to direct my energy somewhere….
Now that we've all established how foolish shatta wale is can we move forward and fight for the country to be fixed#outside#FixTheCountryNow

Stupidly some celebraties are fooling in the name of fame. Shatta wale is one of them . Foolishly they are talking as if weed is controlling them.. Kwasiasem kwa. Don't you know that a working system will automatically fix the mind and the attitude of the people.

However, others believe that Shatta Wale is in the right for suggesting a different approach for Ghanaian youths to rise and fight for their rights.
Sad Truth 😥😔

Now dierr focus is Shatta wale. They have diverted from the main issues and attacking celebrities. Even their own friends are attacking them. Very useless and inept youth.

Ghanaian youth in the last few months have taken to social media to demand accountability, good governance and better living conditions from government.
#FixTheCountry has garnered huge support since campaigners, largely the youth, have been highlighting some of the inadequacies in the country.
However, one Ibrahim Mohammed, a social activist was attacked in Ejura on Saturday by two unknown assailants in front of his residence. Known to many as Kaaka, the social activist passed on at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) on Monday.
Two men suspected to be body guards of the Ejura MCE have been picked up by the Police to assist in ongoing investigations.
Kaaka's death resulted in the Ejura youth hitting the street to demand justice but the protest, unfortunately, led to the loss of two lives and four injured after the protesters clashed with the military.
So far, the Ashanti Regional Police Command has indicated that it has commenced investigations into the circumstances that led to the death of two Ejura residents.
