Husband of the lady who claims she witnessed the brother of late social activist, Baaba Idi, dragging the late Ibrahim Mohammed also known as Kaaka into a bathroom says they have received threats ever since she reported the incident to the police.
According to Fuseini Ibrahim, his wife, Sadia Fuseini had to go into hiding “because of the threat on us by the youths of the community that we lied against Baaba Idi.”
Testifying before the three-member committee investigating the Ejura disturbance, Fuseini Ibrahim on Tuesday said his wife in the early hours of Sunday, July 26 saw the late Kaaka’s brother Baba Iddi dragging the late activist's body after attacking him.
“When she went closer, she saw the brother of Kaaka called Baaba Idi and the brother was holding the hand of Kaaka, dragging him to the bathroom.”
The woman who is currently under police protection is said to have reported the incident to the police which led to the arrest of Kaaka’s brother.
He said his wife had out of fear, kept what she witnessed to herself until he arrived from a trip.
“When this incident happened, my wife was questioned but because I was not in the house, she was afraid to say anything so she told them she did not see anything,” he told the committee.
“She added that if I don’t come to assist her, she cannot come to say anything because they [Kaaka and Baaba] are related,” he added.
Baba Iddi and two others are currently in court as suspects in the murder of Kaaka.
Chairman of the committee, Justice Kingsley Koomson said the committee is not inquiring into the death of Kaaka but added that the background provided will help in concluding on what may have triggered the disturbances.
