The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti region says former President John Mahama's ‘Do or Die’ comment has gingered its members, especially the grassroots.
Several calls by a section of Ghanaians and CSOs for the former President to retract the statement.
But the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC, Augustine Nana Kwasi, says the comment has awakened their spirit to work harder and fight to regain power in 2024.
He said this during an engagement with party members as part of the NDC’s 2020 Presidential Candidate ‘Thank You Tour’ of the Ashanti region.
The party's leadership is positive the 2024 election is almost a done deal for John Mahama.
To achieve this, the Asawase MP, Muntaka Mubarak, said polling station officers must be retrained.
He believes this will avert challenges faced by the party in the last election and make the ‘do or die’ comment a reality.
