Police in the Anloga District of the Volta Region have arrested a 27-year-old fisherman for allegedly murdering a 71-year-old man at Atito, in the same district.
Suspect Yao Senya was reported at the Alakple Police station on 15 September, 2021, to have stabbed one Dumega Heletsi Akpakudzo to death.
He was, thereafter, arrested and has since been in Police custody assisting in investigations.Â
The Deputy Regional Public Affairs Officer, Inspector Prince Dogbatse explained that “preliminary investigations indicate that two sons of the deceased and the suspect engaged in a fight, which made the Dumega beat up Yao’s son.”
“In retaliation, Yao pulled out a knife and inflicted multiple wounds on the chest, neck and shoulder of Dumega and he was rushed to the Keta Municipal Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival.”Â
