Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has called for embattled Dancehall Artiste, Shatta Wale to be given a listening ear.
According to him, although the musician cannot be absolved of blame for faking his shooting on social media, he must be treated fairly.
Speaking on Showbiz Now, on Joy Prime's Prime Morning Wednesday, the legal practitioner expressed the view that prosecuting Shatta Wale may be difficult and urged the Ghana Police Service to target the pastor whose prophecy sparked the controversy.
Lawyer Ampaw’s comments follow the arrest of the ‘I know my level’ hit maker, who claimed that he had been shot by unknown assailants on Monday evening.
Several reports said Shatta Wale had to be rushed to an unnamed hospital’s emergency room due to the severity of his injuries.
But it turned out to be a hoax.
The Ghana Police Service did not lean back. It caused the arrest of Shatta Wale and his close friends as accomplices.
Mr Ampaw also said, “the fake prophecies made by some prophets about the singer's life drove him into a state of fear and panic which led him into acting in such a manner and therefore if anyone should be blamed, it should be those fake prophets."
