As the unemployment rate in the country continues to shoot up and the youth calling on government to create more jobs, the Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta in the 2022 budget, mentioned the introduction of a programme aimed at tackling the unemployment challenge.
According to the Minister, the programme dubbed 'YouStart' would create 1 million jobs in the country.
Also, the initiative is expected to provide capital for young entrepreneurs, training and technical skills to enable them operate their own businesses.
Therefore, JoyNews’ George Wiafe on the Business Edition of PM Express, engaged Chief Executive of Ghana Enterprises Agency, Kosi Yankey-Ayeh to ascertain how government’s ‘YouStart’ initiative will be able to address the issue of unemployment in the country.
