Government has indicated that it will cater for the medical expenses of the 59 person injured in the Apeatse explosion.
The explosion, which resulted from a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle carrying explosives, on Thursday, also claimed 13 lives.
In a tweet, Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah stated that Vice-President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia made the announcement on Friday during his visit to St. Michael’s Catholic Parish, Bogoso, where the victims have been provided temporary shelter.
"Vice-President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has, at the end of his visit, announced Government will take up the medical bills of all injured persons."
He added "Families of the deceased will also be assisted. Once again our best wishes remain with the scores of people affected by this tragedy."

Prior to his visit, Dr. Bawumia gave the assurance that the injured will be given the best of healthcare.
“Government on its part is going to do everything to support the families and those who have been injured. We are also looking into how to make sure all who are injured are taken care of. Some have been taken to Tarkwa, Kumasi, some will be sent to Accra to get the best care that we can afford them.”
Also, Dr. Bawumia on behalf of President Akufo-Addo donated a sum of GH₵200,000 to the displaced survivors. He also presented several relief items including mattresses, boxes of mosquito nets and coil, blankets, and food items.
On Friday morning, the Vice-President led a government delegation to ascertain the state of affairs in the community.
He told residents that government has engaged the State Housing Corporation and mining companies in the area to provide an instant haven for the stranded community members in the coming days.
The delegation comprised Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Inspector-General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare among others.
On January 20, 500 homes were destroyed after an explosion at Apeatse between Bogoso and Bawdie in the Western Region.
Videos circulating on social media showed the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) officials conveying what looked like human bodies out of the rubble.
Preliminary investigations conducted by the Police revealed that a vehicle carrying mining explosives which was heading to Chirano mines, collided with a motorcycle resulting in the explosion.
