Gospel musician, Empress Gifty, has shared a detailed story of how she met her husband, Hopeson Adorye.
The songstress says the encounter, which was at a funeral, is one that can be described as love at first sight. This is because Mr. Adorye, who is a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), possesses all the qualities she desired in a man.
In an interview on Prime Morning on Wednesday, Gifty indicated that meeting the politician was a great miracle in her life.
“I met my husband at a funeral. A friend of mine, Ageorgia, he came from the US and invited me to his father’s funeral. So when I went there, I sat in a car waiting for [my friend] to come. I was insulting him in the car for wasting my time.
“All of a sudden, someone knocked at the glass of the door; so, I looked up and saw this fine gentleman who embodied everything I wanted in a man. I didn’t know he was Hopeson Adorye but I just loved him because he was all I wanted and still want,” she narrated.
“I found something that made me happy all of a sudden. We had not talked about love, but whenever he spoke, I could feel somebody talking to my soul.”
“I was then wearing my wedding ring because I didn’t want to get it off. There was so much talk going on at the time so I promised myself that unless I meet someone that I love, I won’t take it off. For almost four years [after parting ways with my ex-husband], I was wearing it.”
She was quick to add that her husband adores her industrious nature and has given her the freedom and space to become whoever she pleases to be, one of the reasons their marriage has been successful.
However, upon meeting Mr. Adorye, she took it off and they got married within three months after exchanging contacts and becoming friends.
Meanwhile, she has intimated that she has been a well-to-do musician before getting married to the ‘popular’ politician.
Unlike other women with the mindset of depending on the coffers of men, Gifty stressed that she works hard to make her own money; however, “if I am to work for my husband, he should pay for my services because it is business.”
She, therefore, encouraged women to learn to pamper their husbands and not always expect the men to.
