The acting Ashanti regional director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Emmanuel Kojo Appiah, has assured the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Ghanaians that the Baba Yara Stadium will be ready in time for the Black Stars' crucial 2022 World Cup qualifier against Nigeria.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF), on Wednesday, agreed to move the first leg game between Ghana and Nigeria to the Baba Yara Stadium due to the unlikeliness of the Cape Coast Stadium being in good shape to host the game.
However, the CAF outlined to the GFA eight conditions that must be met before hosting Nigeria on March 25 in the crucial qualifier at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Following CAF's decision, Appiah believes the NSA will continue to work effectively with the GFA to meet the conditions given by CAF.
"NSA has always been on top of events and surely NSA Ashanti headquarters and all the stakeholders, I think by the time the match is supposed to be played everything will be in place... that is an assurance," he told Joy Sports.
"We have always been working here [Baba Yara Stadium] and it not going to be different, only that we have to up our game. For the dressing rooms, we don't have issues there.
"We have the pitch, and the pitch we did a little bit of work on it and it was around 3.5mm, now we need to cut it to 2.5mm. Tomorrow we even put some more work on it and we apply our normal fertilizer just as we have been doing.
"So by next week Tuesday or Wednesday, it should be ready and by Friday, it should be excellent for the match," he continued.
The Black Stars are yet to name their squad for the game, with the first meeting taking place on Friday, March 25.
