Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan says he is yet to retire from playing active football amid speculations his playing days are over.
Gyan is yet to play any competitive game since leaving Legon Cities at the end of the 2020/21 season, where he made a return to the Ghana Premier League.
The 36-year-old is also yet to wear the national team jersey since the elimination at the hands of Tunisia during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, raising concerns the prolific goalscorer might have hung his boots.
But the former Sunderland star has revealed he is still open to playing competitive football should the opportunity avail itself.
"I am not retired yet, so I feel honoured when called for these charity games," Gyan said on Joy FM.
"I want to get back to playing, but I need about two to three months to get back into shape. I want the right timing to start training because there are a lot of activities on my table now.
"I would have started training this month but my tuxedo has been fitted already and can't lose the weight now," he added.
The veteran forward has netted 51 times for the Black Stars in 107 appearances.
