Former assistant coach of the Black Stars, Ibrahim Tanko, has expressed his willingness to assist the team in preparing for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The Black Stars of Ghana secured their ticket to the World Cup in March at the expense of Nigeria, with Otto Addo being in the dugouts for both games.
It is believed that the Ghana Football Association and German club, Borussia Dortmund are in talks to see Otto Addo resume his role as the head coach of the Ghana national and lead the team at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
During an interview, Tanko revealed that he is available to assist the team whenever needed. adding that he has no plans of leaving Ghana.
“It’s difficult to say no to Ghana, so I am always available. I mostly speak to the technical team led by Otto Addo and everyone knows I played with him at Dortmund. I also started my coaching career with him, so Otto is a good friend and we always get in touch," he said.
“We have to pray for the team but it will be prudent for us to lower our expectations so players won’t be pressured” he added.
Ibrahim Tanko served as an assistant of the Black Stars between 2017 to 2019.
