First, let me thank the executives of the media groups including Journalist for Business Advocacy (JBA), Private Newspaper Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG), and the Institute of Financial and Economic Journalists (IFEJ) for tirelessly working with the Bank of Ghana to organise this training programme”
The training workshop was part of efforts by the Bank to build a strong pool of financial and business journalists who will help the public to appreciate and understand the Bank’s programmes and policies.
The Head of Research, Dr. Philip Abradu-Otoo, who represented the First Deputy Governor of BoG, Dr. Maxwell Opoku-Afari, delivered the keynote address at the workshop.

The participants at the workshop were drawn from the Northern, Upper East, Upper West and Regions.
The Bank in June 2022, organised a workshop for journalists in the Southern zone.
On their part, the media groups expressed their gratitude to the BoG for making time to educate journalists in the country.
“This training will go a long way to help journalists equip themselves to ask relevant questions. Monetary policy issues are special areas that require training to fully understand”
