President Akufo-Addo has advised Kurt Okraku and the Ghana FA to give the Black Stars technical team room to make their own decisions on players at the World Cup.
Rumours of GFA interference on Black Stars coaches typically make the rounds in the build up to international breaks, as well as during international games much to the charging of fans and sometimes, even players who believed they deserved invitations but were left out.
Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo is expected to submit a preliminary list on October 21 before naming his final list on November 14. The feel of the national team has gone through some changes since Otoo Addo and his team of assistants came in, with names like Emmanuel Lomotey and Philemon Baffour - who were once constant names in the team, having no sniff at the list.
Ghana kicks off her campaign on November 24, facing off with Portugal and Ronaldo, and President Akufo-Addo wants an independent Black Stars in Qatar.
"Having chosen the technical team, I will also implore you, leave them to do their work. I think the people who run football clubs know what it is required of a good coach. He takes the responsibility, if he doesn't you know what to do with him.
"What is always a problem is minister saying, this person should play, and saying president says I should tell you x player has to play. No, we don't want any of that," the President said to Kurt Okraku.
Addo was handed a permanent contract as head coach of the Black Stars till close of 2022, with George Boateng and Didi Dramani as assistants. Chris Hughton was maintained in his role as technical advisor - after the quartet returned Ghana to football's global stage.
President Akufo-Addo believes they have the quality to guide the Black Stars to a respectable World Cup finish.
"We have confidence in the team you have chosen. I think we have got a very good team ... We have a very good set of people to guide our players, we should leave it to them and their professional judgement to decide the best possible combinations for us."
Ghana will open training camp in Abu Dhabi on November 10, while the technical team will receive the full compliment of selected players on FIFA's deadline, November 14.
