About ten tombs have been looted by some unknown faces at Dormaa Ahenkuro cemetery in the Bono Region.
According to the Assembly Member for Broniasua electoral area, Thomas Nsia Yaw, they started smelling some stench from the community some two weeks ago.
Further assessment indicated that it emanated from the cemetery which had been closed for some time now as a result of continuous entombment.
Speaking to Adom News, he noted that he went to the cemetery and saw about 10 to 15 graves having been opened by unknown persons.
The Assembly member explains that similar incidents occurred in the same cemetery about 2 years ago which took the intervention of Nananom, the Assembly, and other stakeholders to put a stop to.
It is, however, unclear the rationale behind its resurgence.
But he suspects the scrap dealers, indicating that they are fond of removing iron rods from buildings and the tombs to sell.
The assemblyman added that his outfit will ensure that perpetrators are arrested.
Mr Nsiah also lamented how difficult it has been getting personnel to guard the facility since the security man died.
He says the assembly is in talks with some people to ensure they get someone to guard the cemetery to prevent these nation wreckers from causing harm to people's tombs which keeps affecting the health of the living.
