Former President John Mahama has charged members of the opposition of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) not to be deterred about issues concerning the 2024 general elections.
According to Mr Mahama, God has already given the party victory.
He insisted that no group of persons can overturn the will of God for his people.
Speaking to party delegates at Akropong on Tuesday, April 11, Mr Mahama said the will of God cannot be subverted by any group of persons.
“They listen to what those people are saying because it is the will of God. I am Christian and I have faith in God. God speaks to me. He says NDC, this is our time. He has given us victory in the 2024 elections already.
“When God decides, no amount of recklessness can stop it. So let’s continue to pray and believe in God that what He has planned for us will come to pass.”
Mr Mahama who is seeking reelection to become the party's flagbearer of the NDC will spend three days in the Eastern to canvass for votes ahead of the party's primaries on May 13.

Abetifi MP Bryan Acheampong has said that the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) will not hand over power to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, the party will use whatever means necessary to remain in power in the 2024 general election.
He added that if the NDC dares to use threats, and brute force in the 2024 election, the NPP will show them that they have the men.
According to him, the NDC will collapse and the NPP we will show them that “we have the men”.
Mr Acheampong said this will never happen and that the NPP will stand on a platform to hand over power to the NDC.
Meanwhile, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has condemned Abetifi MP, Bryan Acheampong for his comments.
The party in a statement issued on April 9, and signed by its General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey urged the police to arrest Mr Acheampong and bring him to book.
“We urge the Ghana Police Service to act with dispatch in this matter. We recall the alacrity with which it recently apprehended and charged the Suame Constituency Youth Organiser of the NDC for expressing views that were deemed to be inciteful.
“No one is in any doubt that the statement of Bryan Acheampong is even more incendiary and subversive. We, therefore, expect the same level of speedy action from the Ghana Police Service,” portions of the statement noted.
