The Ghana Football Association on Tuesday, May 16, launched the Ghana Football School at the headquarters of the association’s room in Accra.
The introduction of the GFA School is one of the association’s ways of improving capacity building in the football ecosystem, one of the challenges that were identified following the start of their tenure.
The School is expected to provide the necessary education for individuals who serve the various clubs in different capacities to ensure the success of their teams and also experience development in their line of work.
According to the president of the GFA, Kurt Okraku, there will be a collaboration with various academic institutions in Ghana to ensure that individuals who want to take up roles in the teams get the formal and practical education needed to aid in pursuing it.

"A lot of us go through training without practical experience, this is what the Ghana Football School is all about. We will partner with schools that already may be running football-related courses but we will provide the practical content for such institutions. For those institutions who are not running any, we would also bring content and together we can run the trainings," he said at the launch.
He also added that certificates acquired under these institutions will be the only recognised certificates under the Club Licensing Board if anyone wants to take up any such roles in the football ecosystem.
Some of the schools expected to be involved in this include; UPSA, University of Ghana, KNUST, GIMPA, and China, Europe Business School of Africa.
