President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, says the Ghana Football School will be a good platform for former footballers to contribute to the development of the game.
The GFA on Tuesday, May 16, launched the project which is aimed at helping individuals build their capacity and play a role in developing football in Ghana.
In recent times, ex-Black Stars players have called on the association to involve them to ensure the success of the game as they believe they have more to offer.
Speaking at the launch of the school, Kurt said this will be a great opportunity for such people to be involved in the football ecosystem.
"The Ghana Football School will offer everybody the chance to get the right levels of skillset. And in speaking about this, this is the best opportunity and chance we can create for our ex-footballers who have a lot to offer than they are currently offering," he said.
The project will see a partnership between the Football Association and several academic institutions to roll out training.
"The Ghana Football School will be working with all the institutions to see how best we can support our legends to get themselves at the right levels that they so desire to have a career pathway beyond what they had on the football pitch," he added.
Some of the schools expected to be involved in this include: UPSA, the University of Ghana, KNUST, GIMPA; and China, Europe Business School of Africa.
