The Ghana Police Service says no person or vehicle was shot at in the Assin North constituency during Tuesday's by-election.
The Police in a statement however noted that, they were pockets of incidents, including an alleged incident of an individual shooting into the air.
The police added that “all the recorded incidents are being investigated and Police have also arrested some suspects who are in custody assisting our investigation.”
“We wish to state that no person or vehicle has been shot at within the constituency,” police said in the statement.
This comes in the wake of reports of gunshots during the election in an attempt to scare voters as well as attacks on some members of the public.
The statement noted that adequate Police personnel has also been deployed throughout the constituency to ensure security law and order for the remaining period of the election and beyond.
On Tuesday, a fake military officer as well as a community protection assistant were arrested while voting was ongoing.
Earlier in the day, the NDC's National Organizer, George Opare was reportedly attacked as windscreens of his car were damaged.
