The Ghana Police Service has revealed that two persons have been arrested for preparation to commit robbery.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the police indicated that the suspects were arrested during a routine stop-and-search operation at the Tweapease police checkpoint.
The suspects, Adams Kwame and Abubakari Sharif, had attempted to flee during the process. However, their accomplices, according to the police, are on the run.
Items the police retrieved from suspects include a pump-action gun, two live BB cartridges, two machetes, and a catapult.
The police indicated that preliminary investigations have established that the suspects had in their possession the exhibit items in their quest to commit robbery.
The suspects are currently in Police custody and will be put before court while efforts are underway to get the remaining two, who are currently on the run, also arrested.
