An Accra High Court has set aside the injunction application that was granted against of the funeral late Ga Manye.
The court in delivering its ruling said the injunction application was granted in error as the applicants failed to give the court the true state of affairs.
Presiding judge, Justice Patrick Baayeh added that any party intending to proceed with any action must serve the other party.
"Upon reading the affidavit filed by the applicants and deposed to by the 1st Defendant/Applicant and upon hearing Ayikoi Otoo ESQ, Counsel for the Defendants/Applicants, I am of the view that the Order of Interim Injunction granted on 25th October 2023 was made in error. The Applicants failed to give the court the true state of affairs."

"In fairness to the parties, therefore, the Order of Interim Injunction granted on 25th October 2023 is hereby set aside. Any party desirous of proceeding may come on notice to the other party for proper evaluation of the evidence from both sides."
Justice Patrick Baayeh concluded "I make no order as to cost."
This follows a brewing misunderstanding between the planning committee and the bereaved family.
The Ga Manye who died in December 2022 is scheduled to be buried this weekend per the arrangements of the funeral planning committee as approved by the Ga Traditional Council.
However, her family has opposed portions of the said plans stating that they have not been involved in the process as they ought to per the Ga tradition.
They subsequently applied and secured an injunction against the funeral which has now been quashed.
