The first ‘family meeting’ of Ghana Athletics (GA) under the new leadership is to take place on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
This engagement is part of efforts to bring all interested stakeholders together to discuss ways to revive interest in the sport.
Dubbed Family meeting, this is part of the efforts by the new executive of Ghana Athletics to fully involve as much as possible, all stakeholders to help in making the federation and sport stronger.
The family members expected to attend this meeting, to be held virtually, are former athletes, coaches, administrators, track and field event organizers, and other strategic stakeholders such as sponsors and lovers of the sport.
The Chief Executive Officer of the GA, Philipina Frimpong said, the meeting will take feedback and advice from all stakeholders intended for the development and promotion of the sport.
She explained that being the first of such broad stakeholder engagements, it was being held virtually so that “as many as members of the family irrespective of where they are presently, can join.
“After this meeting, we will then narrow it down to specifics so we get the right support & valuable input that will inure to the benefit of the sport,” she said.
In August, the Federation elected its former CEO, Bawa Fuseini as the new President along with other executives.
