It was an evening of fine Italian wine and food laced with great music at the 8th edition of the Italian Cuisine Week in Accra.
The event under the auspices of the Italian Embassy in Accra, together with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), showcased a gourmet Italian recipes paired with wines from the 20 wine-producing regions of Italy.
Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Elizabeth Sackey,Ghanaian business community, diplomats, top media and music personalities, and wine enthusiasts graced the occasion to have a taste of fine Italian food and wine.
Guests were treated to the rich and quality culinary taste of Italy whilst enjoying a great ambiance for networking.
Speaking at the sidelines of the event, Italian Ambassador to Ghana, H.E Daniela d’Orlandi said the annual event is a flagship event of Italy to promote the best of the Italian agri-food chain.

She noted that, it is also a networking platform for Ghanaian businesses and the Italian counterparts on how to promote the interest of both countries.
H.E Daniela d’Orlandi noted that, many Italian investors are exploring opportunities in Ghana’s agro-processing sector.
This, she explained is because there is a lot of raw materials and natural resources in Ghana.
Madam d’Orlandi indicated that, Italy has developed advanced technology in agri-business that could help Ghana add value to its exports.

“I think that Ghana could benefit from Italian technology and expertise to transform raw materials and create value” the Italian Ambassador to Ghana said.
For his part, Ialian Trade Commissioner, Alessandro Gerbino thanked Ghanaians, especially promoters of Italian brands and cuisine in the country, for their trust and support over the years.
Partner companies for this year’s celebrations include IMEXCO Ghana Ltd., Dogal & TAD Group, Don Emilio Ltd., Say Cheers, Panific and Barona. Others are Pomona Restaurant, Newco Catering and Logistics Ltd., and Pinocchio.
