The Upper East Regional Security Council has imposed a temporary ban on motorcycle riding. The ban was announced during an emergency REGSEC session on January 22.
In response to recent incidents of violence in Bawku and Binduri, REGSEC also adjusted the curfew hours in Bawku, increasing them from 8:00 pm-5:00 am to 6:00 pm-6:00 am.
Additionally, a temporary prohibition on motorcycle riding in the Binduri district has been enacted.

"The changes were announced in a press release dated January 29, which was signed by Alhaji Abubakari Inusa, the Regional Coordinating Council's Chief Director.
The press release also directed the Binduri District Assembly's District Security Committee (DISEC) to enforce the directive beginning on January 29, 2024.
