Former Ghana international Abdul Razak has criticised the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for the way they are handling the vacant Black Stars coaching position.
The role has not been filled since the sacking of Chris Hughton following Ghana's poor display at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The team failed to make it out of the group stage for the second consecutive tournament.
The GFA announced a road map to appointing a new coach for the job following Hughton's dismissal but there has been no update yet despite a deadline being set.
Former boss Otto Addo is set to be in the lead for the job with the Borussia Dortmund technical team member said to be keen on a return.
Speaking in an interview with Akoma FM, Zito, the former Asante Kotoko star boy bashed the FA for the way they are going about the search for a new gaffer.
"If the FA knew they would appoint Otto Addo, there would be no need to open applications for the Black Stars coaching job. They treat the Black Stars' coaching position as trash," he said.
"The Black Stars coaching has lost its value, and everything indicates that the FA is doing this for personal gain rather than the benefit of Ghanaians.
"Otto Addo as Black Stars coach will be the most ineffective decision ever made by this FA. We should take the time to hire the best candidates available. Otto Addo led us to the World Cup, but nothing good came from it, so why him again?"
